Lenovo Unveils Legion Go 2 Handheld with OLED, Bigger Battery, and Premium Price
Today Lenovo officially unveiled the Legion Go 2, the successor to its first handheld gaming PC, and it shows major upgrades. This new model brings a more vibrant 8.8-inch OLED display with a smooth variable refresh rate of 30 Hz to 144 Hz. It delivers richer color, deeper blacks, and better visuals in motion.
Lenovo also upgraded the battery. The new unit is now 50 percent larger, promising longer gaming sessions without needing a charge.
Comfort and control saw attention too. The detachable TrueStrike controllers are now more sculpted and ergonomic. They include hall-effect joysticks for smoother input and a redesigned D-pad. These controllers remain compatible with the original Legion Go.
Under the hood, Legion Go 2 offers up to the AMD Ryzen Z2 or Z2 Extreme chip, up to 32 GB of RAM, and 2 TB of storage. A nicer touch is the addition of a fingerprint reader in the power button for quick and secure logins.
Lenovo confirmed that there will be no SteamOS version at launch, and it is unclear whether Windows-based Xbox gaming modes will come before 2026.
This update comes with an arrangement of price tiers. The starting price is $1 099, which is $400 more than the original model. Higher-tier versions are expected to cost even more, placing the device closer in price to slimmer gaming laptops.
This ambitious product shows Lenovo doubling down on performance and display quality. Yet at that price, consumers might think twice, especially since handheld gaming options are expanding. Still, for those who prioritize display, ergonomics, and top-tier Windows gaming on the go, the Legion Go 2 offers a compelling proposition.
